That day remains the high point of many years of travel by bike and car. There were no buildings then and just a few other tourists (mostly German). We rode from Pitigliano that morning and had a simple prosciutto and bread panini in the little town square before riding back later that afternoon. It all seemed easy after our wonderful day but was in fact a very hilly 20 mile round trip. I will never forget it. We discovered Saturnia about 20 years ago on a bicycle trip.
