Staying in a La Foce house in winter is a way of discovering an unusually intimate Tuscany. In winter Tuscany reveals its most private qualities. Tourism is practically non-existant from November to March. This is the time when Tuscans take possession of their region again.

Take a boat along the Brenta canal
A charming cruise, through nine swing bridges and five locks real “water lifts”, allowing the descending of an almost 10-metre high water slope between Venice and Padua.
The guided cruises usually include boat trips from Venice to Padua or from Padua to Venice; the boat stops at the Villa Gradenigo of Oriago, the Villa Widmann or Barchessa Valmarana of Mira, the Villa Pisani of Strà ot the Villa Foscari Malcontenta. This is the esoteric sculpture garden based on the Tarot cards, located in southern Tuscany, an area called Maremma, close the the hilltop village of Capalbio. Children love it, and so do we!
